As the cold winter nights encroach, little could warm the cockles more than Boy Willows’ new single ‘I’m Good’. The young talent blends the boundaries between folk, pop and electronica whilst also conveying a beautifully positive sentiment: ‘I close my eyes and breathe, one look inside and I’m good’. What keeps this track from becoming saccharine, however, is Willows’ dexterous use of electronics, which weave in and out of ‘I’m Good’ to give it a much needed contemporary edge. Little is known about the man behind Boy Willows, with his Instagram proclaiming only ‘Catch me floatin’’.
